Long Time…

It’s been ages since I’ve posted anything besides my Hawaiian music links here. Things are busy in Hilo, catching up with projects at the office and starting my Ph.d. research have been overwhelming.

I did want to mention to all HARA members that the Board of Governors is meeting next weekend and will be taking up a number of issues in regards to the Academy and the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards. If you are a member (or possible future member) and have any concerns you would like me to bring to the board, please feel free to contact me at keola (at) nahenahe (dot) net and I will try to bring these issues up during our meetings. We will be looking at a number of the categories at Nā Hōkū Hanohano, clarifying the critera and discussing the kī hō‘alu award which will be established for next year’s awards.

I have received a number of new releases and hope to at least point to them soon, if not doing full reviews. I’m also sure we’ll see an explosion of new releases in the next month as the deadline for Grammy entry approaches.
