Yes, there is someone home but he’s been quite distracted for the past few weeks. I wish I had more time to post, but wishing doesn’t alway make things happen. I would like to point you all to a few notable releases:
- Kuliaikanu‘u, Kahauanu Lake Trio. This is the last of the Trio’s classic LPs to be released on CD. In the Hawaiian dictionary they should have a picture of the Trio next to the entry for “nahenahe”. So good.
- ‘Aumakua, Amy Hānaiali‘i. I’m still waiting to hear this one, but Amy’s voice alone is usually worth the cost of listening.
- Many Classics, Kalapana. I’ve had this for a few months and love it. Many classic Kalapana songs re-recorded by the current lineup. Zanuck Lindsey admirably fills the shoes left by Mackey Feary.
- Kalihi, Diana Aki. Another one I’m dying to hear in its entirety. I’ve only heard a few cuts on the radio so far.
Will try to post a few more links later.
